Ah, the fabric on the office cubicle dividers! Let’s be honest here, as general cleaning contractors, it never occurs to us to clean the fabric on our customer’s cubicle office dividers. I mean really. We focus more on dusting the top and around the hard surface panels.
That’s it. Never the fabric.
Well, the fabric holds even more dust than the hard surface. It collects more germs, dust mites, and allergens which causes more sick days for your customers and you. (I say you because you empty their trash cans, remember?)
And, having stains on these things is hideous. Right?
Wouldn’t we do our commercial cleaning customers justice by offering to clean the fabric on their cubicle dividers? After all, they’re the ones sitting there on average of 8 hours a day.
Let’s see just how simple of a task this can be.

How to clean fabric cubicle partitions
Instructions to clean fabric office partitions
- Vacuum first all around even underneath the partition.
- Dip your towel in the water solution, wring tight, and lightly wipe.
*** Gotta stop here. There is a thing to wash walls from bottom to top, then rinse from top to bottom. Buuuut, since this is wiping fabric walls, I would say, to lightly damp wipe from top to bottom. Okie Dokie! This would also prevent the carpet from getting too wet.
- If you choose to really go for it, rent a machine with an upholstery attachment and just go for it. (Adhere to the instructions of whichever machine you rent.)
- Wipe the hard surface all around to remove all residue.
That’s it! We encourage you to take your professional cleaning just a little deeper and consider to provide this extra service to your office cleaning customers.
